Trading Assistant - Junior Trader

Our client is a sucessful, well established, Switzerland based soft commodity and fertilizer supply and trading company.

To develop futher the African region and to strengthen the front team at the fertilizer department, we are looking for an eager young potential as



Trading Assistant / Junior Trader

Objective

We are looking for a motivated and eager junior professional with high learning capacity and strong interest in commodity markets. Ready to assume increasing responsibilities with the clear potential to grow in the mid-term into a Junior Trader

Your tasks 

  • Daily support of Product Managers and Senior Traders in day-to-day operations

  • Conducting market and trend analysis

  • Assisting in the identification and development of new market opportunities

  • Monitoring and following up on ongoing trades

  • Administration



Core Competencies

  • BA/Masters in Finance or Maths
  • 2 - 5 years of experience within commodity trading environment, ideally in operations
  • French mother tongue and proficiency in English
  • Knowledge of the African region and supply chain 

  • detail oriented, numerical agility

  • Problem solving and analytical thinking

  • Resilient and dynamic personality

  • Ability to take initiative

  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Commercial mind-set and entrepreneurial thinking
