We are recruiting for a leading commodity trading company near Zug a

Vessel Operator

To work on all aspects of Coal freight trading from basic transportation and logistics concepts to trading strategies. You will work closely with traders, team colleagues in the department as well as with people in other departments and field offices.


The main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Managing and coordinating day to day operations of allocated vessels;
  • Handling nominations
  • Performing lay-time calculations
  • Arranging hire payments and freight invoices
  • Performing freight differentials
  • Arranging bunker supplies for the vessels
  • Checking stowage plans and optimizing cargo intake
  • Monitoring profit and loss for all the vessels/cargoes
  • Other duties and responsibilities as the Company may see fit


Qualifications and requirements:

  • At least 3 years of shipping experience, preferably in time charter operations
  • Familiarity of IMOS vessel operating system.
  • Proficiency in English (both verbal and written), any further language is an asset
  • Efficient, able to work under pressure, very well organized, detailed and comfortable in using IT applications
  • Ability to integrate into and to work well in a multicultural team and fast-pace environment
  • Independent, flexible and entrepreneurial work attitude and high motivation to solve problems
  • Self-motivated and willing to take over responsibilities
