Procurement Specialist - indirect procurement

Scope of Role and Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for the procurement and commercial contract management of all materials, construction and services required for the company related to a series of categories or geographical area.

Your Responsibilities

The responsibilities includes all activities for indirect procurement subjects (e.g. IT, Facility Management, Finance, Insurance, Accounting, Communications, Legal, HR, HSES) and take on responsibilities for part of technical procurement (direct procurement):

  • Managing the procurement interface with suppliers in a professional and ethical manner
  • Ensuring that all procurement activities are executed in line with the company’s process and procedure
  • Supporting the planning process in terms of time schedule, budget and quality
  • Developing and implementing the contracting strategy for all internal functions to meet the requirements of the appropriate stakeholders
  • Researching relevant procurement markets, including bidders/suppliers
  • Leading tender processes or direct negotiations with suppliers as required
  • Managing purchase orders
  • Handling claim management
  • Developing and providing statistical reports and measurements


Your Key Qualifications:

Commercial or technical education

  • Minimum of 5 years strong practical experience in indirect procurement, including contract preparation in both German and English

Knowledge of contract law​​​​​​​

Experience of using electronic purchasing systems within a team

Fluent in English and German (company languages)

Good Knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to work under pressure

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Result and goal oriented

Sensitivity towards confidential matters

Ability to work in an intercultural/international environment

Sound negotiation skills and assertiveness

Willingness to travel
