For a mid-sized commodity trading house headquartered in Baar, Zug, we presently are looking for a 

Senior Trade Finance Commodity Trading

Key responsibilities:

  • End-to-end ownership of the financing of a defined set of banking relationships and/or commercial transactions (deal/transaction presentation, answering of questions by lenders, update of transaction throughout its lifetime and monitoring of collateral).
  • Review letters of credit related to physical trade transactions, both import and export, as well as oversight on documentary presentations.
  • Reconciliation of overall positions between financing banks and the company
  • Monitoring of cash equity usage of transactions and resulting cash flow
  • Interaction with traders, operations department and LME/Futures team related to financed transactions.
  • Drafting, negotiation and execution of documentations related to credit facilities, repurchase facilities, factoring facilities and other banking/financial institution relationships.
  • Support in identifying new banks/financing counterparties
  • Participation in/leadership of IT systems improvements related to Finance
  • Mentoring and training of junior team members

Must Have Requirements – (please do not apply unless you fulfil all requirements)


  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject (economics, finance, engineering, computer science, etc.)
  • Excellent mathematical proficiency
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Direct relevant experience in the commodity trade finance department of a bank, or the finance department of a commodity firm
  • Good understanding of commodity hedging and derivative contracts.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken, other languages are a plus
  • Permission to work in Switzerland (i.e., Swiss passport or permit, or EU/EFTA citizenship)
