Our customer is a young and dynamic company focusing on developing technologies to generate antimicrobial properties to a range of surfaces and substrates. The HQ is in Zurich area / Switzerland and the company is represented in Europe, the USA, Asia, and the Middle East.

Technical Sales Manager B2B - Europe

This position is a new created function to support the license business (B2B) and the owner must have an ambition to develop the role within the organisation. He/She will be based out of Zug, Switzerland.

The position reports directly to SVP B2B Sales - Europe.

 

Position Summary

This incumbent will be responsible for growing the company’s Licensing business across Europe in textile, polymers and coatings. He/she will validate new and existing applications, support new product/market development and delivers solutions utilizing technologies with partners. He/she will also have direct responsibility for technical development with customers, including trials (pilot, scale up) and troubleshooting.

 

Primary responsibilities and activities include

 

Technical Service

  • Build up technical networks at Customers to position the existing solutions
  • Capture joint development partnerships to advance innovation pipeline towards successful delivery
  • Understanding of customer product requirements and mapping it to technology capabilities by working with R&D teams
  • Establish strong relationships with internal R&D and Technology teams to accelerate new formulation developments
  • Manage internal testing and validation
  • Scale up trials and provide troubleshooting support at the Customers’ premises

 

 

Sales & Marketing

  • Develop Technical Sales packages to accelerate conversion rate for B2B technology licensing customers
  • Implement value based pricing to increase sales, maximize profit, and create enduring long term value
  • Actively manage accounts, including account planning
  • Collaborate with Customer Service to deliver best-in-class customer experience
  • Undertake market research to develop pipeline of prospects, estimate market size and identify white spaces
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create marketing materials for B2B technology licensing
  • Create speaking opportunities and present to suitable client forums, industry associations, etc

 



Qualifications and job requirements

  • Masters in Chemistry, Microbiology or a similar technical discipline (i.e. Textile, Coating, Polymer processing); MBA qualification in addition will be an advantage
  • Total experience of 3 - 8 years in customer facing roles, preferably in the specialty chemicals or biotechnology, with experience in formulation chemistry
  • Experience with complex technology licensing business models is an advantage
  • Fluent in English, German skills preferably
  • Work with cross functional teams (R&D, Technology, Supply Chain, Product Development, Finance, Strategy, Marketing)
  • High quality work and problem solving mindset
