Group Consolidation & Technical Accounting Specialist
Role Description
The analyst will prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual group financial statements under relevant reporting standards (IFRS), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Day-to-day responsibilities include performing group consolidation entries, reviewing intercompany reconciliations, and maintaining the consolidation system and reporting structures. The role involves researching and interpreting complex accounting standards, drafting technical accounting memos, and advising finance stakeholders on the accounting implications of new transactions or business models. The analyst will collaborate closely with local finance teams, auditors, and cross-functional partners, support internal controls and process improvements, and contribute to ad hoc projects such as system enhancements, acquisitions, and the implementation of new accounting policies.
Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, Swiss certified accountant) is an advantage.
- Strong Accounting and Finance knowledge, with a solid understanding of group reporting and consolidation concepts.
- 3 - 4 years of practical experience with Financial Statements preparation, consolidation processes, and reporting under IFRS and Swiss GAAP FER (or comparable standards), ideally within a corporate.
- Hands-on skills in Journal Entries (Accounting), closing activities, reconciliations, and general ledger processes.
- Advanced Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify variances, and provide clear explanations and recommendations.
- Experience in group consolidation roles within an international environment; exposure to commodity trading or financial services is a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP and consolidation tools, as well as strong Excel skills; experience with system improvements is beneficial.
- Detail-oriented, structured, and reliable working style, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages (e.g., German) are an asset.
